I think we should take all photos in the top 10 for the month, and have a vote with them for the picture of the month.
Then at the end of the year, take the top 5 from each "picture of the month" vote, to declare a photo "Picture of the Year"...
Any thoughts? |

Kinda hard to do without the challenge context. The top image in the "red" challenge might not stand a chance again the top image in that month's Free Study... What about restricting it to free studies? But even then, the anonymity is blown... I donno...

I like the idea of this... maybe anonymity isn't important? It could just be a fun thing, and if it becomes a popularity contest, so be it. I just think it would be nice to rehash the year's top images.

It is difficult with challenge contexts to think about. What about the photo that gets the most favs in a month is the photo of the month? Of course then the challenges at the beginning of the month would have a better chance. But at least this way it could allow those entries that don't finish well in a challenge but become faved by many to be in the running. Just a little different measuring tool of a successful image. Still has problems though... |
