Hah, Shannon, that's great! the kids must have just loved it.

Awesome, Shannon.....but I'm not going to shower too much praise on you 'cause I know better.

I have done both Darth Vader and Santa Claus, and the payoffs from the kids is off-the-charts priceless.

Side note: If you drive down the road in a Santa Claus suit, EVERYBODY waves!!! LOL!!!

One kid said he didn't think I was a real cat. I said I didn't think he was a real kid.

Another pointed out that I didn't have a tail, so I held up the book and said I had LOTS of tales.

When kids pointed and stared, I'd point back and say, "Omigosh! Look at THAT!"

I dropped paper and apologized for the kitty litter.

One of the kids studying Dr. Seuss said he thought I was dead. I told him that was just a story.

This went on for over an hour. ;-)

HAHAHA if only i was half as clever! amazing

That's awesome, Shannon! And the pics your wife took turned out excellent! My attempt at something similar resulted in my being barred from my son's school for life.

A couple questions for ya: How old are the kids in the class? and did you get dressed up at the school or did you drive there in that getup?

Shannon, You're a cool cat! Props for being a caring parent, and for taking time to share your talent with the children. They will remember the day for a long time.

But what do they do if you drive down the road as Darth Vader?

Kid: I don't think you're a real cat.

Cat: I don't think you're a real kid. I think you're a Thing. Thing 1, maybe. Thing 2, perhaps. Or possibly Thing 98 and a half...

Fantastic to see this kind of involvement with the children. I love this sort of thing, and try to do as much as I can at my kids school too. Good on you for this a COOLER CAT I have never seen.

All the best to you and yours.

You made some kids very happy and gave them something they will not soon forget.

MAX!

I saw 'Horton Hears a Who' last week - great fun! Quite philosophical in fact.

Shannon, you get Dad of the year. That's awesome! I'm sensing many requests for kid's birthday parties in your near future. You'd make a fortune!

I'm flattered to see the sudden interest in this three week old thread. The kids still talk about it, and I had another shot in the local newspaper (near the bottom of this page).

It's kindergarten, so they're mostly 5 years old. I drove to the school in full costume, but didn't see a single reaction from other drivers. I even waved to a cop parked along the road on the way back. Nothing. Apparently this is a normal sight in my town. :-/

Shannon, I just saw this...this is great!! I called my kids in to look at the pics...they giggled and got very excited! Now, if I had half the quick wit you have...I wouldn't have half the headaches I have with my kids and their questions!
