| Those of you who do product shoots, and stuff for magazines, etc. how did you get your start? how to you present yourself, and to who? how and where do you look for your next assignment??? just curious... |

find out what you want to do and email everybody that has something to do with it. If you want to do product shots, email (or go into) stores that hold what you want to do..
example, I wanted to shoot food, so I contacted a restaurant whose shots sucked, told them that I could do better and the photos they have don't match up to the level of service and the quality of food so in my mind was the weakest link in their business. I did that shoot last week.
If you want to do band shoots, email record labels, management companies and whatever else and just ask. Tell them what you do, send some pics with the email/letter/whatever so they know you're not just another guy and see how it goes.
Just ask people man, you'd be suprised. |
