i've got an opportunity to visit Poland for a wedding. though the dates aren't set yet.
i thought i might get some preliminary input on what to see outside of Poland if i were to commit to an extra two weeks in europe. i should a place to stay in poland for free, but likely no one to tour around the country with.
i'd also be curious if anyone in the general area would be willing to let me crash on a couch or whatnot... sort one night here, one night there - backpack around type of thing. i travel light, and would be financially sound. so maybe a couch for a night for a dinner & drinks out... ?
ideally if i get the chance to plan early enough ahead of time - i'd have a travel agenda and would train around stopping for a day or two in a number of different locations.
my thinking is - if i were to crash at a local DPC'rs place - they'd be able to point me in the right direction in repsect to food, photo ops, where to go and not to go etc.
i'd appreciate any input.
thanks !
ETA - originally it was to happen this summer - but a bit of poor planning on the wedding couple has caused it to be postponed.

you can easily buy a bus tour that will depart from Krakow to Slovakia, Austria and Italy... I went on that when I lived in Krakow...it's cheap too. If you have time visit Zakopane in the mountains, truly beautiful. And make sure to drink lots of polish beer.
