Someone had to start this.

Having viewed all the entries, there are really only about 15-20 who actually met the challenge IMHO.

What do you think? Let the games begin.

i agree... some are really pushing it or just arent tilted in my opinion.

I wondered the same thing - but I guess an angle / motion shot qualifies - within the challenge description at least. It's gonna be interesting watching the scores come in.

Lots of great pictures in this set. Luckily I don't have to compete with them.

15-20? Doesn't sound like too humble of an opinion to me, considering the nearly 200 submissions.

I thought most were perfectly compliant - unless you consider simply tilting the camera a creative use of the tilt license? Any cosmonaut monkey with downs-syndrome on a .50-cent-per-ride unicorn simulator with a "Le-Click" could tilt the camera.

Maybe you need to think "outside the box", instead of under it. It's limiting your vision.

I think it does. The great thing about image composition is it's application in virtually every known media - not the least of which includes cinematography, which relies heavily on composing light, expression, color, and focus. Pause your DVD's in any Lord Of The Rings scene, and you'll find perfectly harmonized stills in most scenes.

I approached my humble composition from this aspect.

A great photo can be a complete symphony of all those factors, coalesced into a coherent design.

Or it can be a GAP advertisement.

Either way, artistic expression can only be appreciated by an open mind. Which brings me to my point: A loose structure is inherent in a theme like "tilted", and allows for a broad range of ideas.

Tilt what? Your camera? Your subjects? Convey movement? It allows for alot. My submission involved my subjects, and arranging them in a tilted fashion to convey movement, an diminishing angles in a still scene. I dove into it, and had fun doing so. I even had to build a makeshift rig.

Does that make it a great photo? No. Does it mean my entry into the challenge was into the spirit of the tilted them? Hell yeah it does.

I think most of the entries were in that same spirit.

I knew from the moment I hit the shutter key that I had created a nicely designed shot (The challenge description said design OR motion right?). I knew it was not going to be a ribbon winner but I has hoping to get on my own front page....Imagine my joy this morning to discover

I'm not sure how well mine met the challenge, but I wanted to throw one in for it.

Had lots of fun creating shapes via tilting; not overly concerned about the score because I wasn't expecting much.

lol, hotpasta never eases up on us, but you don't really have any room to complain about high scores in the first place, lol
