This thread is hilarious. I've enjoyed reading it. I bought a set of light about two months ago and it took me an hour to have it set up. That was the easy part. I am still playing with they lighting but getting better every time. My kids are getting sick of sitting there while I play.

Why were you not satisfied?

I use four Elinchrom strobes and love them. They are an excellent product with loads of accessories and even third party items. So, I have soft-boxes and snoots and a variety of other hoods and reflectors in order to shape thelight the way that I want.

The built in flash on my camera made better light than the set i bought. and it was very very yellow looking all the extras that did come with it were complete crap, the back drops you couldn't even use for anything that was a waste for them to put in the box. I knew it was going to be crap when i bought it but I expected it to be okay.. not CRAP..lol

Well I was looking for a better explanation than they were complete crap.

The yellow tint could have had something to do with your white balance on YOUR camera.

I wouldn't buy it. The lights even look poorly made and the backdrop stand looks very unstable.

It's worth spending more money to get better lights. If the lights flash at different powers or with different color every time they fire, it'll drive you mad very quickly.

Don't want to say this, but "told you so".

In addition to the studio strobes that I use - Elinchroms, I also make us of four Nikon SB-800s on stands with umbrellas for remote shoots. The "system" works very well. It may be something to consider as prices of these flashguns are dropping. The same is true for the Canon system, so a multiple flash approach may be more cost effective, offer enhanced features and ultimately be far more portable then any large strobe system?

Food for thought...

A little saying in the business I currently have a career in, and can't seem to change at this time is.....

'You buy the equipment you want, never buy the equipment you need.'

In other words, if you only have a budget for Home Depot, and not a budget for some high end, super duper, gold and diamond encrusted, bells and whistles galore, equipment, then go to Home Depot it you really need that equipment.

Don't spend your money on a piece of crap, because basically you will be getting what you paid for....shit.

Save your money, buy what you want, not what you need.
