Yes, already. In Alexandria, Virginia, anyway, where the annual St. Patrick's Day parade will be taking place this Saturday, March 1. I will be there with the Potomac Valley Irish Wolfhound Club and (wait for it) ... my Irish Wolfhounds :-) Probably 2 out of 3 of them, anyway. We meet at 11:30ish near the corner of King and Peyton in Old Town and the parade starts around 12:30 and goes down King toward Market Square. There should be LOTS of opportunities for street photography (and perhaps a tilted parade watcher or two) and the weather is predicted to be decent. If you happen to be in the neighborhood, please make sure to stop by our meeting place or merely yell, "Hi, MaryO" as I march (by which I mean walk) by ;-)
More info and the rest of the local St. Pat's parade schedule at PVIWC's website. I should also be at the Manassas and DC parades, juggling my camera and at least one leash while marching.
If you do stop by, note that there is a fine for horse, pony or saddle jokes, payable to PVIWC Rescue. We already know they are big dogs! |
