I was wondering what everyone charges for photo restoration or just editing? I am in process of editing pictures for a lady who had her wedding shot by someone else. The pics are pretty bad but recoverable. I have ended up spending four evenings editing, shadows, blemishes, bad lighting, underexposure, cloning, healing, croping (you get the picture...) a total of 152 pictures. How should I determine what to charge her?

what was your price BEFORE you decided to do this, and was she ok with that amount? cuz if not, you just wasted a bunch of time & effort :D
seriously, if you are already done with the work, you must have had at least SOME idea in mind, or you wouldn't have taken it to begin with. Choose a number that you can be happy with. Take THAT number, double it, ask for it, and hope for the best.
You'll know better next time to make an agreement in advance... good luck! :)

Charge by the hour or by the job. If by then hour, then consider whether this is going to lead to other business or not. If not then.... If so then perhaps grant a price cut. Doing business with friends complicates matters. How about $100 per hour? Can you earn money from the printing? |
