I had ps7 from a friend, friend gone no disk. Computer had to be wiped out so ps7 gone of the computer now.
I have pse4.0- does nothing for me after working with ps7.
Can't afford ps CS2- obviously not 3 either.
so I'm looking at Lightroom or the new Paintshop Pro whatever it is. Which one? Never been a PSP fan, but I know people who use it and like it. |

I have v 11 and 12 of PaintShop Pro. Very happy with it. I'm sure Photoshop may be more capable in some aspects, but it also costs a hell of a lot more money. Any questions or concerns in particular regarding PaintShop Pro?

Lightroom will get you to a nearly finished image in many cases. It's not inexpensive at $300 but it is a nice app and has good organizational features.
As for PSP, I've been using it since version 9 and it's done what I want it to do, but I'm not usually too heavy-handed on PP. Others here use it probably more vigorously ( ursula, gloda) to good effect.
I've seen PSP X packaged with some Lexar (?) memory cards a while back at no extra expense. Not sure if that's still the case, but hey, nearly free is always good. :-)
Good luck in whatever you go with. Anything "new" will have some learning curve to it.

Thanks for the replies! I'm not much of an editer either- usually just some curves adjustments, converting to b&w, things like that. I miss my PS7 though!
I think I'll look at the new PSP and hopefully I'll like it. I don't NEED it right now- I still have PSE4.0 and an old jasc psp8. I don't have anything to edit right now nor will I. Just doing my research before I buy. |
