I upgraded coz this cam just winked at me. Also, she came home with me on the first date. I respect that.

But you did have to pay for it, remember.

I bought the Canon Rebel because I out grew my little sony. I wanted more features, like dof and more lenses. I wanted to take a picture in low light and not have any grain in it, like when I take portraits with studio lights my sony had some grain in the shots which made it look bad. I have yet to try that with the rebel.

My Nikon 995 was stolen, so had to replace it. Figured I might as well save a bit and get an SLR now I'd learnt stuff. And prices have been falling rapidly.

Many reasons to upgrade. One of the biggest for me is time lag on my point & shoot. (both at start up and taking the picture). I also want to be more in control of how the picture will look. This includes the ability to use off-camera flash.

I'm one of those with tons of questions since I've always had a point&shoot in the past.

I would love to upgrade to one of the super-whiz-bang DSLR cameras, but
just can't handle the expense! My antique cameras will just have to do
until I learn enough to justify one of the tall dogs!

Learned lots from my first camera but I've outgrown its capabilities and wanted something a bit more flexible. Only problem now I have to wait until I can afford better glass and other gadgets. But I don't regret the move one friken bit. :)
