What do you think I could've done to make this better?

Well..... have a look at other photos you like, and/or high scoring ones.

None of them have a messy background - it is always carefully thought out.
For setups like a product photo, it is most often just one plain color, cleanly presented with good lighting, no wrinkles, etc.

Little figurines rarely tend to impress people, but if you put some thought into your presentation and your lighting, you could make a big difference to the photo.

I agree with Beetle. I also think that a photo tells a story. There should be a reason for taking a shot. This does look like a practice shot to see how your camera settings are as I can see no other reason for taking this shot. Therefore it lacks interest and no-one will look at it a second time.

You could also play with the focus

Or maybe focus on one detail

Just play around and practice... I think you can make any object interesting!
