i'm curious if anyone, after having read both sides of the argument going on in 2 different threads, has been convinced by one or the other to change your mind on which side you agreed with in the first place?

i'm just wondering if the discussions in those threads are actually leading anywhere anymore. i wasn't sure which one to post this in so i'm sorry if this was a waste of a new thread.

What arguments?

What threads?

What sides?

I think that quite often we have firmly made up our mind on an issue, and won't change it because of a thread.

But not all is lost, because hearing different views might open our minds to new possibilities which, in turn, can influence our thinking on the NEXT issue.

So I think all of these debates are good and healthy, I just wish we were allowed to keep debating, without being forever policed and silenced at the drop of a hat (no, this isn't necessarily about the Leroy issue, this is an ongoing, repeated, general gripe).

Please, please, keep discussions to th threads already open on the subject. We really don't want the forums to be dominated by this topic, even though it deserves open discussion.

i agree. it just seems to be repeating the same arguments over and over and i haven't seen anyone bring anything new to the party.
