Finally loaded my wesite. Most of my images that you will find here are on there. I'm open to suggestions. I went with what the hosting site was offering. I was not sure how to create my own pages and set the link to that page.
//www.fotografiavicari.com
Anyway have a look.

Thx

The navigation links on the left are really hard to read, thats probably my biggest gripe, a larger thicker font would really help out.

The links across the bottom are un-styled (the default blue underline) which doesn't look very good with the B&W color scheme.

Personally I'm not a fan of the home page being a different width than the gallery page, but thats a bit more of a personal preference.

The flash galleries loaded quickly, although the << and >> arrows at the bottom of the page are a bit hard to see (people might miss out on the other pages in a given gallery)

I'd like to see a bit of a border around each image, as the blacks merge with the background and make it a bit weird.

I'm not sure what the X Gallery really means, unless its just miscellaneous, but before clicking on it I thought it might have been nudes or something. That might turn some people off of looking at it?

Anyways I hope that's somewhat helpful!

yeah, make the section titles bigger.

Also, it's a really slow website. I'm not sure what browser thing you use for the pictures but on my work pc (which is an absolute beast) it's slow slow slow, slow to the point of me getting annoyed and exiting sooner than you would like me to. But that's my first impression, which is what a lot of people will go from.

I'm not sure how you can change that, but if you can, do.

Other than that, i like it. maybe rework the title to make it a bit more standout, it looks a bit 'basic' at the moment. And try and remove the really little title at the top, it looks like you haven't been paying attention to the basic viewer.

And that "what do you see" thing looks like an advertisement or a pop up and made me think the site was a little dodgy.

Your pics are great though: I would suggest possibly putting a border around them and get a colour scheme beyond black and white.

The font too: I don't like it. It doesn't seem to be very clear on my screen which makes everything hard to read.

Sorry if i sound like a troll, I was trying to dissect everything from a cynical viewpoint, but you asked people to nitpik and indeed, I have.

The menu font - definitely bigger or bolder (or both). Maybe nix the music - one of the first things I look for when visiting a website with music playing is a way to turn it off. That will speed up page load times.
If the music is embedded in a flash file - I have a 30 second mp3 of "silence" that I use for just such occasions ;)

I'd suggest you don't need to have the word "gallery" repeated for each gallery.

And it'd be nice if I could use the arrow keys to go to the next pic in a gallery...

The music is kind of annoying me. You should put somewhere to turn it off if you're going to have it on there.

Also, if I hadn't seen the comment about the "<<" and ">>" I wouldn't have noticed them, definitely make it bigger.

It looks very nice, but get rid of the music. You also might want to think about the contact details - where in the world are you? You can't assume that everyone will be able to decode the address you give to determine which country you are in - same with the phone number.

Thx for all the suggestions. I have listened to all advice and have made changes. Some I could not change because of the template that I used doesn't allow me to make those changes. eg. turn music off..I would realy like that option but Its not available. The Pic in the far right of every page Iwould like to get rid of but again not an option. The arrows under the preview list is for pages in that gallery. If Ichange the gallery colour Those arrows become more visible buttons which read "next" and "last". And of course there is no option to put in arrows to just advance to the next pic. Next tim eI will do more research in finding a more versitile design site.

Thx again for the comments. Would still like to hear more.

Fix your page titles (see below).

Home (//www.fotografiavicari.com/index.html):
Title is "//www.fotografiavicari.com/index.html"
Kinda generic.

People (//www.fotografiavicari.com/slideshow_flash.html):
Title is "People" which is fine.

Landscapes (//www.fotografiavicari.com/slideshow_flash2.html):
Title is "Landscapes" which is fine.

Floral (//www.fotografiavicari.com/slideshow_flash1.html):
Title is "Floral Gallery" which is different. Why not just "Floral"? Or change the others to "People Gallery" and "Landscape Gallery" instead.

Your page names could also be better.
slideshow_flash.html?
slideshow_flash1.html?
slideshow_flash2.html?
Looks pretty cheesy. What about
People.html
Landscapes.html
Floral.html

Remove the "Email" link from your left navigation. It just uses mailto:fotovicari@rogers.com which is also cheesy and old school. You have all your contact information on the "Contact Us" page along with a nice email form. I would just go with that instead.

I'm having a lot of problems loading your site. I'm not certain if it's my system or not. I had to forcable kill my browser process in order to stop/close my browser. If no one else is having this problem, it might be me.

I hope this helps.

It has been said before the load time is an issue (I am on T1 shared with 2 other users)
The gallery thumbnail setup I think really needs to be larger.
I also agree on the music.

So excuse the question for being harsh as it is not intended to be ...
What is the purpose of the site ?

Just to show images or is there a commercial motivation?

Yes there is a commercial motivation to this. I have yet to put together what I am going to offer in terms of rates and what I am willing to do.

The download speed I am looking into. I have talked to a tech rep and they said " It just might be the viewer's connection speed, but it seems to be an issue for people with good connection speeds.

thx for the input.

First of all: it looks good. Nice layout and photos, but I don't like the blue colored links. It's said in other comments: the music is annoying. It's nice to offer the option but irritating when you're listening to your own music.
