Well the more I read the less I know!....I am so close to getting the flow , the images almost match my monitor, althogh they tend to be a bit high in magenta. Check it out if you have time and let me know what you are doing....I am working in OSX 10.2.8...
Step 1..System profile...I select my calibrated monitor in the displays.....and then in color synch prefence I set the default RGB to working adobe 1998; and the color sync tab I have it set to APPLE CMM rather than automatic.
Now in In photoshop:
In color preferences the following has been set: WORKING SPACE : RGB adobe RGB 1998, CMYK as US web coated; GRAY as dot gain 20%; SPOT dot gain 20%;; in color management policies all are set to preserve embedded profiles....IN the conversion options I have tried two options ; the engine that seems to work best for me is Adobe (ACE), however this I wonder about since I have APPLE CMM set up in the preferences ...??? I have the intent set to perceptual...check both boxes ; not sure what to do in the advanced controls so those are left blank,,,,
In the proof setup I have put the paper I use SP2200 enhanced Matte_MK here and the intent as perceptual ( although I have had good results putting relative colormetric here), check box yes in black point....When I open an image I keep the working space as adobe RGB 1998 as my working space....( now here is where I am not sure) I have talked to few people who before they print convert their image in the mode tab( convert to profile and change the destination as the paper profile being used, this changes the work space and for me it seems a bit more muted....I now rather than convert in the mode tab I go to print with preview..IN my source space I button the proof rather than the document which syas my paper profile which I set up before. MY print space is also my paper profile and the intent is perceptual with black point checked...then I push print, and go to print settings, select my paper in the media type click advanced settings take off high speed and print photo 1440dpi, then the last step is to go to color management and click no color adjustment......I have not tested enough to see what clicking colorsynch. With these setting I am getting some beautiful 13 x 19 prints.....Let me know if you see any quirks here???....I am only 30-50 hours into reading about color management and I know htis takes a lifetime...many thanks James
...ps ..hope this long question helps those that are just tweaking their workflow. |
