I see some two to three year old threads about it, but want to make sure it still applies. Paint Shop Pro X2 (and other tools I think) has a despeckle function. Is this legal under basic editing?

| If the function is to reduce noise, and it's applied uniformly to the entire image, it should still be legal. |

Thank you. PSP doesn't offer much in the way of a definition; it suggests using despeckle "to remove single-pixel specks." So I think it works in a more discrete manner than some of the other functions, but it is applied uniformly.
I see now that PSP (and maybe other tools) has a lot in the way of noise removing functions. I suppose one is as legal as the other so long as they are applied uniformly (the key word here, it seems).
