36 Trojans sounds like a cool name for a song, or a movie, or a really hot date... but it was my biggest nightmare today at work, along with 6 Keyloggers. I had a huge lesson in viruses today.

First, it was annoying. My icons on the desktop became permanently highlighted. Then, some links stopped working when ordering office supplies and pull downs were transparent on most sites. Viewing pics would make Firefox shut down. Then weirdly enough, photoshop was being affected today. I was changing the image size down to 1 X 1, which I do almost daily, and it was instantly pixelated. I tried it multiple times with the same result. It was weird. It didn't make sense to me to have software like Photoshop effected by a virus in such a way. Prolly 'cause I've never had a virus before...

So anyway, the tech guy wiped my laptop clean (saving my pics and docs) and re-installed all the latest software. The scary part was that I got my laptop at the same time as I picked up photography again (a little over a year ago). I had no backup for ANY of my RAW images (as of today, I do).

Lessons learned... does this virus sound like any ya'll have heard of? It was truly horrible.

Sounds like you need to use your prophylactics and watch where you stick that thing.

I am glad you were able to rescue your files before it totally trashed out. Think about an external hard drive backup, or DVD's for archiving.

Hell, she had 36 Trojans... you'd think viruses would be the last thing on her mind ;-)
