| I'm not sure if you have them up there in Canada, but down here in LA there are shops that install "used" auto glass REAL cheap and they come to you. I once needed to have a windshield replaced, one quote I got was for about $1000 and they couldn't do it until a week later. I found another place that installed a "used" windshield (not even a scratch on it) the same day at my location for $225. It was a legitimate business too, not a chop-shop. Anything you have to pay really sucks, but as others said, glad you're safe. Good luck. |

Yup, they can and will install a used windshield (even encouraged to by insurance)
but this is a stupid little side one that comes attached to the rubber that goes right around both side windows, so they have to replace that whollllle thing, not just the one piece.
Went over to get it done today and they'd ordered the right one which is the wrong one, the left one being the right one. (Figure it out ;) ) |
