I noticed that my XTI is having a problem where the shutter is sticking when I shoot under rapid fire. I also noticed that this happens when the battery is low. Has someone else experience this issue with the XTI?

I don't know whether it is helpful or, indeed, if you want to hear it, but I had the same sort of thing. The cam would shoot for a few shots and then sort of 'stick'. It was the shutter failing. The next thing was that the cam died completely. I hope that's not the case for you.

Hmmm... I just got this camera for xmas. Good thing the wife bought the extra protection warranty. I hope it dies right when the Rebel 450 comes out :D

Oh, and I should add that I'd only had the cam for three days before this happened. Are you feeling better about it yet?
