Has anyone else bought one of these wireless remotes for their camera?

I just got mine, from Hong Kong...£14.99 on eBay, including P&P!! It has a 100m range, from any angle. And, it works fine on the 30D. Build quality is really good, no tacky edges or dodgy buttons. 16 selectable channels so the same remote can be used for more than one camera at a time.

I have tried it at 25m so far, through walls and with half press on button you get autofocus, full depression gets shutter actuation.

What do you all reckon? Good value or what??

as long as you are happy with it and it works, i'd say you got a great deal...

i hope i am as happy as you are with the one i bought.

I have seen a couple of sorts on eBay. The one I bought and one with orange buttons. I think you will be pleasantly surprised with the quality of build and the only thing that might detract from it is the name on the transmitter and reciever, but a bit of tape over the name would solve that.

Hope you enjoy it :))

Yeah, you are right...I got the one with the orange buttons...for $23 you can't beat it.

I reviewed a similar remote. In fact the one with the orange buttons here:

I have the "Photix" brand that looks exactly like that picture. I bought it off eBay from Hong Kong. I think I paid something like US$20 for it about five months ago.

I highly recommend it. In fact, I'm on a Dallas trip right now and just used this remote tonight. I was shooting the Dallas skyline with a buddy of mine. The remote works well. I was using it with the mirror locked up on the camera and in Bulb mode. Be careful of some remotes out there on the market...some don't support all these features.

I bought this one and received it recently and it is a very decent remote for the price...$23 is a bargain.
