Ok, so I have figured out basic photo enhancement/editing using levels and curves at their more basic levels. My question is, how does one best figure out curves by channels? I haven't even really tried this and I feel like it just throws three more variables into my post processing equation.

I just read this tutorial and it adjusts each channel differently. Are there certain trends that adjusting curves in each channel that I can expect? Is this why (for example) I see some people in the "eyes have it" challenge that can get rediculously blue eyes and I can't figure it out?

Thanks!

well it changes the colour values and moves the red, green and blue into different colour territories. If you get the red curve and pull it down, things go greener, it you pull the green curve, things go red, and the blue one i'm not sure...

It's handy for cross processing shots or emphasising/minimizing a given colour that may be too dominant/suppressed.

As for the eyes have it, i'm not sure it would have been used in that without masking, which isn't allowed. The effect could easily be achieved by making a hue/saturation layer and saturating the blues and cyans only. If you go into hue/saturation and click the drop down menu next to where it says 'master' you can get into individual colours and bust your moves.
