Hello, everyone. I do at least some degree of editing on nearly every picture I take; sometimes a simple levels adjustment and USM, other times more involved. With this in mind, are there any benefits or advantages to setting the camera to "parameter 2" instead of the default "parameter 1"? If "parameter 1" is too overprocessed, why not just use RAW mode? |

I have been made some test shot in the previous days, i think that:
- for "ready to print" jpg, the best set is "parameter 1";
- "parameter 2", is more appropriate for a little post-processing;
- "adobe RGB", is perfect for heavy post-processing, especialy in combination with RAW;
Uhm, my english need some post processiong... :-P |

It's better to have them as neutral as possible out of the camera if you do post processing on all of them anyway. That way you have options, and matching the Parameter 2 levels of contrast, saturation and sharpness is no problem at all in Photoshop.
The Parameter settings are just in-camera post processing for all I know
