Hey everyone,

Just wanted everyone to know that Union University in Jackson, TN, got leveled by a tornado this evening. about 1/3 of the campus is severely damaged. They are pretty sure there have no fatalities, but there are 8 students still trapped, whom rescue teams are talking with through the rubble, and they are going to be able to be rescued. Here is the only story I could find, i saw most of it on the local news. Please pray for the families and students.

yeah... i live one county east of memphis. i've heard there was a tornado rip through a mall on the south side and one touch down in arlington, near me.

what appears to be the last bit of it is moving through my town now. thankfully, it never got bad here, but it crashed down all around us.

wild night...

its been really bad. My whole family is in Memphis and there have been tornado after tornado. My dad isnt sure his house is still standing. They live in Marshall county Mississippi and there have been several by his house. They took shelter in Memphis at a local hospital.

One mall in Memphis was hit hard and collapsed the sears store too.

Arkansas has been hit hard as well. We got lucky when it got to Little Rock, it had lost some of its tornadic activity

No... such... thing... as... global... warming....

Commentary aside, I hope the trapped people get out okay. Must be a terrible night down there. Last night in Illinois there were snowstorms with thunder and lighting. Not unheard of, but still odd.

actually, it was the massive cold front moving through that caused all the damage...

luckily nothing damaged around me that i could tell (thought it was still dark when i left the house this morning)

lots of power off in areas around memphis, though, making the ride in a bit of an adventure, what with trying to find streets with working lights and such.

i'm just glad it wasn't worse, thank God. it could have been really bad for a lot more people...
