If they are able to pass this law, some skinny 16 year old working at McDonald’s is going to get hurt.

"Description: Food establishments; prohibit from serving food to any person who is obese."

LOL!

I can see this being really fun. McDonalds start putting scales and body fat analysers in front of each of their checkouts. "I'm sorry sir - your BMI is 15% higher than is allowed by the state of Mississippi for the consumption of low nutritional content, high fat foods such as these. On a personal note, you sir, are a fat f*** and should cease and desist from fast food immediately".

N

p.s. Hey wait a minute - isn't advertising poor quality/value food like McDonalds to our children an ethical or moral issue? What makes it any different to A&F sexualising clothing ads? Or Joe Camel? And the answer is the same - education, not laws.

can't smoke in a restaurant, because it is bad for you and others....what is the difference with this? "You look too fat. Here is the NO FAT menu."

NANNY, NANNY, NANNY!!

continue to watch your freedoms removed.

So, now some 15 year old earing minimum wage is going to be doing health assessments on all the customers during lunch rush? Do they get free med school first to diagnose obesity?

Either this bill is not serious, or the lawmakers in Mississippi really are that stupid.

In today's Denver Post the guy who wrote the bill said he never expected it to go this far he was just "trying to make a point" At 5 feet 11 inches and weighting 230 pounds he would most likely not be served a meal under this bill.

I think there should be a law to prevent lawmakers from submitting these stupid bills and wasting tax payer money just to make a point.

At 15 said employee SHOULD be getting an education during the lunch shift. ;)

The most common definition of obesity is based on simple measurements of height and weight (which are then used to calculate the body mass index or BMI). So yes, the 15 year old could in fact make the diagnosis.

well if you ask me.its utter rubbish....dont they no if they stopped serving big ppl in resturants these big ppl will just get some skinny person to buy it for them, then there gunna be stuffing there faces at home with no exercize getting bigger and bigger because they feel ashamed.then have to have there home torn apart to get them out.

why only punish fatties, soon it will be anorexia sufferers what we will hear next is,( they seem to think its ok to waste food when theres starving children in the world)
who cares ,fat ,thin, black, white, purple, pink with spots ...we all bleed the same color

dacrazyrn is right, continue to watch our freedom and our rights be slowly taken away.

That is INSANE!!!!! I am not sure how to even start to understand the logic and I fear it will kill to many brain cells trying to do so.

"Yes ma'am, step forward through the fat detector. Do you have any Twinkies in your pockets? Please put them in this receptacle. They will be returned. I'm gonna need your shoes now thanks to that idiot Richard Reid. What? No, he wasn't fat really, but you can never be too careful."

Beep, beep, beep.

"Yup. Looks like it's the cottage cheese tofu burger for you."

the funniest part of that article/law is that the guy that proposed it is 5'11" and 230lbs...

that's about 60 pounds over-weight - i would estimate.

maybe he's trying to force himself to diet...
