FYI, From the Miami Herald wire services:

"SKOPJE -- Slavic Macedonians and ethnic Albanians alike mourned the death of peacemaking President Boris Trajkovski, whose body was found Friday on a Bosnian mountainside, one day after his plane crashed.

The 47-year-old moderate, who epitomized the Balkan country's struggle for reconciliation after clashes in 2001 between security forces and ethnic Albanian militants, was praised by the Slavic majority and ethnic Albanian minority as a great statesman.

Flags flew at half staff, and Macedonia began three days of mourning as Parliament Speaker Ljupco Jordanovski took over as acting president.

''It's a terrible moment like this when we all realize the value of life, the value of peace,'' said Vasil Bozinovski, 51, a Slavic entrepreneur."

The legacy survives the man...as it should.

I surely didn't mean to offend you with that article, Kosta.
I believe the intent of the article's author was to indicate that there are two "factions" in Macedonia that are united in their respect for their deceased President. How would you describe the "ethnic Albanians" who actually live in Macedonia, since they could correctly be called Macedonians as well? If the author referred to Macedonians without the Slavic descriptor, that would include all people living in Macedonia, including the "ethnic Albanians" who reside there. I'm not trying to incite a debate. I'm just curious about how you would re-write the lead paragraph to indicate that the President's death has united both groups of people - at least in his mourning.

No,nothing against you,thanks for the article! :-)

I just want to point you how bizare is the media these days!

I mean calling some people by unprooven historical roots is very offensive, none is calling you a German if you are American,in same case a Gaul or something like that!

I sympathize with your loss pitsaman. He was a man that all Macedonians everywhere should be proud to call one of there own. He will be missed by all who desire peace whatever their background.

Always a tradgedy when someone dies unexpectedly, and especially in violence or senseless accidents.
I, too, was saddened to hear this on the news. Peacemakers seem hard to come by. Now the world has lost another. :(
