This is a photograph that I was going to enter in the Conflict challenge, but decided not to because it has more graphic qualities than photographic qualities. There was very little post-processing on it and I'm wondering if I made a mistake by not entering it. I only did some minor color balancing and really nothing else.

I really like it and was wondering if you could tell me if you would have scored this poorly or not. This is the entry:

Thanks...olyuzi

To be brutally honest... yes, you did make a mistake. I like this a lot. With a little thought put into another background (this is the major drawback to your photo IMO), perhaps some cropping off the top and a little more work, this would have scored high with me.

Thanks for the honesty SoCal...I actually shot this in sepia mode and then used color balancing to convert it to the color you see. I intentionally used a small aperature to silouette the statue. What color would you have liked to see the bg? BTW...I agree about cropping the top.

I would have given you a 7

Although I like it, many probobly wouldn't. This is because of what you said, there are many graphic qualities, but not many photographic qualities. I would've given you a 5 or 6.
