Every time I see a thread start and it is exactly the same thread from two days, weeks, months or years ago. That person is always asked if they searched the forums. Probably not. Why? Because it is at the bottom of the forums screen. Move it up and next to the "New Topic" button and rename the search to "Search Old Topics"?
Ok so say we have moved it to the top of the screen and renamed it. Does that makes things better? No! Why? Well do this experiment. Go to the forums page and search for the word search. Notice that the first page of results only has one Thread topic with the word search in it and it is for Google(maybe now this thread too). There are 20 pages of results. Who wants to sift through that? Make it where we can have the option to search thread titles only. That way if I type search I will get thread titles that contain the word search. Then I can at least assume that the subject is about the title. The forum search wasn't working for a very very long time, and it could be helpful if changed. I know it may not be in the works to change right now but if the admins and site council want people to use the feature make it better. |

hate to burst your bubble - maybe - this idea has also been mentioned numerous times in the last few months ;}
its a good idea though.

I'm sure it has and you prove my point. If I could have searched and found it in past topics, I wouldn't have had to post this thread. ;)
