Hi,

I have six focus settings in my camera: Macro (already know how to use it), .5m, 1.0m, 3.0m, 7.0m and infinity, there is no manual focus. The camera is a Sony Mavica FD200, 2MP and 6X optical zoom. My question is, how can I use those focal points effectively? And with what type of shots are they best used?

Thanks for the help, I really appriciate it...

well say you were taking a pic of a bird in a tree and you knew it was 7.0m away... yet there was lots of branches in the way before the bird that was 'stealing'the focus.. you would set your camera to 7.0m... then shoot....

Tyt2000,

This is the same camera that I use at work for capturing images for communication instructions or for product part displays at manufacturing operations. Page 64 of the manual indicates a manual focus capability. F encircled by a hand symbol appearing on the LCD indicator screen. Page 64 also explains the reset process to auto focus. The distance selection is typically used when the autofocus does not give you the results you want.

Hope this helps.
