If you're not in texture overload, and want to see some more (boring) textures, I have put my outtakes etc here

drawing pins and ripples = not boring.

I think they both had potential. Drawing Pins, like you said may have needed different light, but has a high contrast potential. Ripples cropped to exclude the seaweed would be my favorite.
