Ken,
First off, you bring a very interesting question on how the voting is calculated. Personally I feel that as long as the calculations are the same accross the board we all are subject to the same set of rules. Thus it is fair.

Reference your comments: The members that responded to your thread are some of the most active/helpful members of this site. They are full of photography knowledge and many of us that have been on this site longer than a week owe a great debt of gratitude to these members.

Stick around for awhile and enjoy the site, It works quite well.
