The question I have is...can I apply a B/W Gradient across the entire image in Basic Editing ?...as long as it goes corner to corner ?...then fade it and curve it to bring it back from the white but leave a little darkness in the sky ?

So you know why... a gradient is a pixel bearing layer and the only layer that may contain pixels in Basic editing is the original background layer.
