Has anyone heard about this x-ray lens? A friend refered me to the site - but i dont' know what to make of it.

I didn't read through it (later), but alot of cameras are capable of this (why infrared photography works), but the companies know about it and place filters/blockers so that it does not work this way. I imagine with my IR filter I could achieve it also, but I would have to open my camera and find the filter and remove it (as I think the case for this to work would be).

dacrazyrn has hit it on the head, this is nothing but an infrared filter, and it is being marketed to those interested in the "what if I could see thru clothes" question?
There is another old thread with discussion on this. Many light-weight fabrics, esp. synthetics, are nearly transparent to IR (even more when wet).
The sad fact is, because some people will abuse it, daylightIR capability has been greatly reduced in Sony cams that once were very capable.
All in all, a disgusting marketing ploy.
