I was wondering if anyone knows anyone who does CSI photography (forensic photography) for a living or has done it.
I have always wanted to go into forensics. I was a Paramedic for 6 years and also on a Crash Investigation team in the Air Force and have done my share of forensic evidence gathering.
I always thought it would be interesting to do forensic photography and combine my hobby with my experience.
There is a course here were I live for Crime Scene Investigation and includes a 3 part photography course. The local police department provides all of your equipment that you need as well. So I thought I might look into it.

Hey there. Interesting topic you don't see much about.
I took a correspondence course in the Army that included a section on medical and crime scene photography. I don't remember the course number, but I bet you could find it online somewhere with a little Google action. It would obviously be a no credit thing, but might give you some insight.
Hope this helped. |

Details anyway!
It would be interesting to find out what you learned (some things are universal - particularly the photographic angle - and could be applicable regardless of geographic locale) |

I work for the local police department and am part of the forensics team. I get to do this type of photography.... :D I havent gotten to go to any schools yet.... but in 2 weeks I am going to a Photogrametry class.... we focus taking photos with certain points in common so we can load them into a program which then produces a to scale 3D image.... I am sooooooooooo looking forward to it...
