As I was voting in the texture II challenge, I've come up with a term that I feel fits a good number of pictures each week.

One-track mind photography - When a photographer thinking only on the challenge topic fails to think about the other aspects of photography. Such as shape , lighting , color , and perspective . As well as a whole host of compositional elements like negative space, simplicity, repetition, symmetry, and leading lines. Which have also been challenges.

I felt like saying this because I feel people are getting upset because they are fulfilling the challenge topic and are expecting good scores for doing so. When at the same time they have very little of the other elements of photography in them. Which leads to boring weak pictures.

What are your thoughts?

You forgot 'pile of' photos.

I'm absolutely with you - despite the challenge subjects each week, one still needs to submit a good photograph regardless.

shape, lighting, colour and perspective are good point for the texture challenge.

Having commented on 92% so far, I must have typed "Needs somethnig else to break it up -sorry but this is dull" on at least 50% of those.

You going to make it to the 100% Jon? Good going indeed (seeing as I've had the liberty of not having anything else to do whilst voting :-)
