can someone please help me.the error code on my 40d is telling me to clean the contact points on the lens.what do i use to clean them?i have wiped them over with a lens tissue and it works for a few shots then stops again.thanks for any help.

A clean eraser from a quality pencil, a Q-tip with some Isopropyl Rubbing Alchohol or sensor cleaning fluid, all of the above being done with care so as NOT to leave any particles of "stuff" behind that will find it's way into the camera body.

I would try a soft cloth with rubbing alcohol on the cloth, slightly damp. If that doesn't work, gently rub with a pencil eraser. You want to clean the dirt/tarnish off but leave the plating on the contacts.
