I found an exciting almost abandoned building yesterday. The building itself was once a sugar beet warehouse/factory. It is on the Phoenix Historical Register. Most of it is boarded up and behind a large fence. One small portion is in operation as a car garage. the gentlemen who ran it were in the process of moving out, in fact I caught them in their last few moments.
They invited me in to take some photos, but could only give me a few minutes. I felt rushed, which is never a good thing.
The particular photo seems to me to have some wonderful potential, but I am struggling with it. Any wonderful photoshop gurus want to have a shot at it? I will email the large version to anyone who might help. Thanks in advance.

Did you by any chance shoot this in RAW? You have some really under and over exposed areas in the same photo. Too bad you did not bracket the shot and could do some tone mapping. You may be able to retrieve some of the details if you shot RAW. If you shot JPG then some may be lost but not all. If you email me the pic I will take a crack at it for you. (mail@smithphotopro.com)

Could you let us know what kind of effect or PP you were after? How do you want to use this photo, what kind of feel do you want. |

There's my take on it. Tough with such a small file, though. |

How about a low key approach? It would emphasize the cool textures in the wall, the pipes, and at the same time bring down the blown out sections.
A very quick edit to show you what I was thinking - adjusting levels, a bit of USM at large radius, a slight adjustment in curves, and some dropping of the lightness of the cyan, blue, and magenta to darken the brightened section. oh...and I boosted the red to highlight the bricks.

How about a little HDR and tonemapping adjustment :)
If you like this, I can reproduce it on the larger photo.... just let me know

It was quite simple actually....
I ran it through WUKONG's HDR processing, then it's tone mapping processing... I dont remember the exact settings since I already closed the file... then I dumped it into photoshop and sharpened it and slightly adjusted the color. Save for web :)

Taking Sunniee's edits and desturating the doorway... Not sure whether it really adds anything?

This is wonderful! I am seeing my vision of this photo now. Unfortunately I do not own Lucis Art. |

Tonemapped from the same image, used gradient mask to highlight upper right. Noise ninja, contrast, usm.
