I know it's considerably inferior...but there's a certain Tim Saberi who has setup the application.

Any relation to our Mr Saberi? (the FB one is in Canada)

I believe you're thinking of AlexSaberi and the application seems to have some PR issues. Lots of negative comments from what I read.

I've had a look too and it does seem to be riddled with flaws.

This one is similar but looks more promising --> //www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=6118650948

Is there any kind of smallprint in this saying that Facebook gets control of your picture, your camera, your brain and your bank acocunt?

They seem to like including little clauses in their software that basically screw us over.

Except that those who dont bother to use applications (which, quite frankly, screw over the core user experience by clogging up profile pages) and then you only need to contend with the fact that people (which can be limited) can see only the information that you write in, or may have the ability to steal extremely highly compressed images which are useless for making money from... and would so obviously be ripped to the casual observer that they would laugh at the poster of the photo as theirs in any online forum. You are your own victim if you think that facebook is actively trying to do you over... only you can put yourself in the position you are quoting.

The facebook smallprint states that you grant facebook the license to use as they please anything you upload or create on facebook. This includes photographs that you upload to your profile or private messages you send to your friends. Who knows, you might find 'Tez's Diary - with pictures' in the bookshops soon and not get a penny for it.
