I can not afford a fancy, shmancy web site. Nore, can I build one.
But, I linked together my blog, and a free web site builder from Microsoft to give me some bang for the "no bucks".
Can you tell me if it is ok or not?
Thanks in advance.

Thom - It's nice, but a few things:
- try to get your main photo/self portrait the same width as the rest of the page
- the use of italics and bold is a bit too much...consider using a single style with bold where necessary.
- Links can be presented more cleanly by putting them in a list (perhaps bulleted) and 'embedding' the link
Nice site and great photos...a few tweaks and it'll really stand out.
Alternative, take a look at Uber - apparently very easy, free, web based, and outstanding results. Also check out Animoto for some free (or cheap) slideshow fun (really good...highly recommended).
Best

Hey Thom, I'm not much of a web builder either so can't help too much. One thing I noticed though, you'll need to use "//www.dpchallenge.com/profile.php?USER_ID=36006" for your link to your DPC profile. Maybe in your portfolio, include some sports photos since that's the first thing listed under your name: "From Sports Images..." And maybe have different categories with similar subject matter (sports, portraits, etc) instead of having different versions listed. Just my 2 bits, hope it helps. |

Not bad at all for starters. I like the lighthearted description of your work that includes monsters attacking cities. I'd love to see those shots. Are they in your DPC portfolio?
You need to get rid of the jpeg artifacts showing in your photo, though. Not professional looking.
Just had a closer look. The file sizes are tiny, so there are a ton of compression artifacts showing in all your samples.

Just looking at your site... a couple of things
your front page is where you sell yourself... take the time on it and make sure it's as good as it can be. Asiide from the other comments you might
- take the time to write a welcoming paragraph summerizing what you do and really selling yourself there
- Make sure the title bar says something other than "Home" When people bookmark your site this is what they'll see and they will soon forget what it was for
- also add more information to the site... people want to get as much info from your site as they can before deciding if they want to call you up.
BTW I did get you PM, I'm not ignoring you just havn't had the time to give a proper responce :) sorry |

Made some changes as per the individual posts.
I could not make my self portrait position. I only have 3 choices and this was the better of the three.
Made an opening statement.
I couldn't find any artifact's. I did see some feathering from pp that could of been cleaner, but that's it.
I redid the names on the buttons.
I added bullets.
I added links.
Please let me know what else I can do.
Thanks.
