Armed with my new (if slow) X-Drive, I went on a crazed continuous shooting session with two fellow photogs, at a local soccer club.
Here's my four favourites.
And the rest of the outtakes.
Let me know what you think.

Hi Paul
Some good shots there, I think it`s alway different to put action into still pictures but you have managed to do it in some of the shots.
My favourites are the ones in your outtakes
The one with the referee shhing the player
The portrait of the supporter
and the three players going in for the tackle

Hi Paul (fellow 300D/DR owner)!
Very nice. It's great how you stopped the action in these shots. What lens were you using for these shots? All of the colors look very nice. Nice and bright.
Thanks!

All excellent shots! I have to agree with wackybill - some of my favorites were in your outtakes, and I really do like the referee shhing the player - especially with the look on the player's face.
Great job! |

Thanks for the comments guys. I shot with a Canon 75-300 USM (no IS). |

Paul, were those shots hand held or tripod?

Handheld, at mostly at ISO 400. I was getting around 1/1000 shutter. |

George, I was gonna say the same thing!
Love the interaction caught there. It heightens the 'story'. :)

These are really excellent shots. Great facial expressions and real feeling of being there. You should be very happy with these!

Thanks guys. I forgot about the Conflict challenge, so it didn't occur to me to enter a ref shot. :-( |

LOL - nicely done Ben!! You've made a pretty excellent job of that. Shame Conflict isn't an advanced editing challenge.. ;-) |
