Going down the drain I guess! Oh well. I was expecting to see a lot more HDR. I think it would have helped with a lot of the winter shots where the foliage is gone. JMHO.

Took a quick look at the thumbs and I think there are some amazingly beautiful shots in there. Probably can't get to voting for another couple of days but it looks like it will be a treat to do it. |

FYI on HDR: you don't need to do it automatically. You can also manually stack images and then use layer masks (or just careful erasing) to combine images.
You can also rescue some detail in shadows and highlights in Photoshop by playing with the sliders in edit->adjustment->shadow/highlight. The shadows section brightens the shadows and the highlights section darkens the highlights.
I'm sure auto-HDR can do things I can't do with those tools, but so far I haven't run into anything.

My shot is around 6.1 with 39 votes. It's way above my predicted 5.3 so I'm very happy.
It's a snapshot with no fancy editing, so I feel good about it doing so well in an advanced editing challenge so far.
It even has one nice comment.

I'm sure mine isn't going to go much higher cause people might consider it a shoe-horned image and it doesn't have some of the awww inspiring effects I think most are expecting...oh well, it's what I had to work with and am happy with it myself. |

Do you ever wish you could go back and change just one thing about your entry? Based on the comments received so far I had one screw up that is going to cost me big time. Every comment except one has noticed something I missed. All I can say is the folks here have a really keen eye for what is good or bad. I guess I got busted! DARN IT!!!!!!!!
