I would not count on that as a long term solution. Most NAND flash memory is rated by manufacturers to have a ~10 year data retention life (*might* last longer, but no guarantees). The data 'cells' on the chip eventualy revert to their inert state if they are not refreshed. Not really an inprovement over CD-R life, and a MUCH more expensive solution. I guess if it is your livleyhood, it might be a good third backup.

As a short-term solution it probably makes sense for all digital potographers...if you don't erase it from the flash (ie. use "Copy" rather than "Move"), then if your main system crashes before it is backed up, you can go back to the flash.
