I have a headshot session in an hour, and it's turned out to be quite a cloudy day. I shoot all outside for people when I do this, and it's always been sunny. Any tricks or tips for shooting when it's cloudy? I don't know that my reflector will help if there's no sun out. Who has some words of wisdom for me?

I'd put my ISO up to 400 or 800. You'll be OK as long as the shutterspeed is 100 to 200.

Overcast days can be good for portraits because there are no harsh shadows. Hopefully there is enough light for you. |

Your reflector WILL help. Think of cloud cover as a giant softbox and use the reflector as a smaller softbox. You won't see the bounced light as much as you would on a sunny day, but it will still make a nice difference.

Bring your lightsphere, that always saves me. |

Good point, flash bounced off the reflector is probably best if you don't have much natural ight (really heavy clouds)

Ok, I'll put my ISO to 400, and make sure the shutter speed is 100-200. Thanks Slippy!
Yeah, jeger i thought it may help - thank you!
Ok - Cindi says my reflector WILL work! YAY!!! Thanks girl!
I haven't used my lightsphere yet - i just got it!
Thanks everyone! You've calmed my nerves! :)
I feel like I might have more freedom to choose locations too...since I don't have to worry about being in the shade! |

Here's one of the shots from today.
I think the shoot went very well. He seemed quite happy with the shots.
Thank you for all of your help, everyone. :)
