		| | At the moment its a tossup between the Tamron and Sigma 70-300mm for Canon. On Amazon the Sigma costs about $50 more than the Tamron, but the customer reviews just aren't enough to show me if the $50 is worth it over the Tamron. Which one is better, or is it just personal preference?
 Other lens options:
If someone can direct me to a decent macro or wide angle under $200... Otherwise, I'm getting my telephoto fix for now.

		| | Have you considered the Tamron 17-35mm - second hand?
I have it and it is WONDERFUL! It was always on my camera until I got the 10-22mm Canon.

Tamron now make the 17-50mm so there seem to be a few mint condition 17-35mm within your budget on Ebay.

I bought mine second hand from Ebay, it was only 6 months old MINT condition and has been sterling!

If you were in Australia I'd sell you mine - GRIN!

		| | I bought the Tamron and am thrilled with it, and am only trying to sell mine because I got a f/2.8 telephoto for Christmas.
Is it better than the Sigma? From everything I read, I thought so, but who really knows. It has a slightly larger macro range which is nice. I have other Tamron lenses that I love, so that decided it for me.
