How about making a few XML feeds available (to members only of course :)):

- Personal Submissions: allows user to track voting without hitting update on webpage. Means developers can make widgets and/or apps to pull the feed on a regular basis (Mac OSX/Vista widgets, Firefox extensions, apps etc). Lots of options for graphing voting over time, also means you can put the feeds on a separate box to save overhead.

- Challenge Announcements: for new challenges and recently completed challenges

I love the fact that DPC doesn't carry any overt advertising - but it means that users don't necessarily have to come to the website if you don't want, or if logistically it's easier. Anyhow, just a thought...I love the site as is, just would love to be able to track challenges outside of the webpage.

I remember a request similar to this from long ago. I think the problem lies in authenticating members. XML authentication that is transparent to the end-user is a black art.
