I had this one:
I really liked it-- it was going to be something along the lines of the skinny Barbie and her heavier shadow- pressure on little girls to be skinny and such. Could ya' guys gives me any kind of critique. THanks!

I just don't get anything too meaningful from it. I first look at it and think its kinda interesting, I guess just because its different. But when I ask myself why its interesting, I don't come up with anything. Even with your description, I don't make the connection. The shadow doesn't really look fat to me. Technically, it's fine for what it is.
Disturbing as it might have been, your entry in that challenge was far and away the better choice. |

this is an interesting idea, though i'm not sure if the "low-fi" look is helping much here. there is a lot of grain in this image, and not a lot of contrast. perhaps reshooting with this in mind could be productive for you.
with the image at hand, maybe a little photoshoping could punch it up a bit. below is a version of your photo that i took the liberty, hoping you wouldn't mind, of editing a little. i don't know if it works or not, but it just goes to show that you don't always have to settle for what the CCD deposited onto your flash card...
ps i really like your despair in triplicate photo - you got robbed on that challenge.
