So, I had some free time between Christmas and New Year's Day, so I decided to create a tribute photo in honor of Dean's ( DeeRiot) photo taken on the reality television show, "The Shot". :-)

Of course, my version doesn't even come close to his quality! LOL!

First of all, thanks for the additional comments! They are definitely helpful :-)

Based on some of the comments, some of you do not know who Dean Zulich is. He was runner-up in the reality TV show with fashion photographers. The show was on VH1 and was called, "The Shot".

Here is Dean's shot (shown below), which is published in January's edition of Marie Claire magazine. Dean used a large aperture to showcase the model (singer/songwriter Joss Stone). This was, after all, a fashion shoot and not a landscape shoot. Whereas I used a small aperture (f/20) to emphasize not only the model, but the sky and convergent lines of the long road leading to the mountains.

Dean has blogged his experiences on the show on his MySpace site.

Shouldn't this be a tribute to Larus, who obviously inspired Deans shot? (whether he was thinking about it or not)

Not exactly invented by Larus. Shutterstock drawing.

Well, I just knew the Dean had been on the site for a while before this, and most likely would have found Larus' portfolio is all. I wasn't saying that Larus was the first person ever to take a pic of a girl traveling down the road.

I've been on this site for about two years now and (with all due respect to laurus) when I think of a woman on an empty highway, I really do not think of laurus.

Dean has viewed 18 photos here at DPC. I highly doubt he ever seen that photo.

edit to add, not to mention he has never voted or commented on any images.
