Picked up a new lens today and really looking forward to going out with it soon (real soon). Rather than tell you all what it is how about a few guesses from you guys?

Not the best pic in the world (plus the subject lets it down) but this was my first shot other than the few test shots in store.

Close Sam ;)

Hmm...the only other one I can think of is the Peleng 8mm fisheye... Unless it's not a fisheye and just a superwide.

I think Sameer's nailed it. Looks like about 8mm, so could well be the Peleng... that seems to be about the right "cropping" for an APS-H sensor.

Will own up a little here, no, its not the Peleng, was shot with the 1DnMKII with the lens collar left on (without the lens collar you don't get the ever so slight vignette)

You got me then...

My guess is you taped one of those door peepholes to a lens. Now the only question is duct tape or electrical tape?

The EXIF data says 15mm f/2.8. But that's too circular for the Canon Fisheye ... especially on a cropped body.

Damn, meant to 'save for web' to lose the exif data. Yup, without the collar the image is normal on both the 1.3 & 1.6 crop factors I have. Sam should really get the virtual prize, he just got one word wrong!

I'm confused ... what "one word" did he get wrong? And what do you mean about leaving the lens collar on? (or better yet, what do you mean by the lens collar?)

well, if I told you the word I'd give you the answer. The 'collar' may be a clue though. As with the Canon 15mm fisheye this lens has a built in hood and also has a collar that fits over the hood so you can attach the lens cap (or take circular shots with ff).

Perhaps the Sigma 15mm fisheye?

Well done Corey, now I can add the Sigma EX 15mm F/2.8 DG fisheye to my profile ;)
