beautiful out today, upper 50's. I had to go into town today so i thought i would checkout the new park the Springfield park board has just opened. Its on the edge of town just a couple miles from where i work. Its a working farm with real livestock for the kido's to see. This is a barn that you can go into see the critters. when it is done that plan to have about 40 acres of crops growing and a pond the kids can fish at. Lots of play areas and trails to walk and ride bikes. I will take more pics as i have time.

I'm a little behind:

January 3:

My kitchen counter. I like the lines and the simpleness of this shot.

January 4:

My fireplace. Again, I like the lines and the simpleness.

January 5:

Okay, I needed a shot, so I took this one up the canyon from me. I didn't even use a tripod, just took a snapshot. Not really my style, but it is venturing out to new things.

Day 6 - Millenium Park Amphitheater

Here is the last from my after work stroll. Just a little bit past "The Bean."

A walk along the garden on a bright, fresh, frosty morning. The swingball set which hasn't seen a lot of action this past year.

Day 6 - Another one of my favorite places here in Caloundra, on the Sunshine Coast, as I love to take photos as I love this view.

Another one of my favorite places here in Caloundra, on the Sunshine Coast, as I just love taking photos, as it is a magical place.

going to try & spend this side challenge working on exposure, and following the light which is so great in winter. I want to only use adjustments to shadows, brightness and gamma as I edit; maybe add sharpen and a touch of saturation as needed. I would like so much to get the whole exposure thing down a bit better, and think the variations in light & dark of winter light are a great place to practice. Please add any tips or suggestions as we go

I really appreciate constructive criticism!!

Thanks!!

Anni

Here is my day 6. I think someone had asked to see another picture of the church. Sorry for the no rule of thirds and all that blah blah! :)

My daughter on my sled across the street from my house. This big field is a great place to teach her to ride.

Woefully behind on this challenge, in fact this is my first submission. I wondered if it may be a bit ambitious to be in a side challenge in January. I work in the accounting field and it is the financial year end, so I was wondering if the title of my challenge should be "where you work"! I have been in the office all weekend and frankly am sick of the sight of it. Ho hum, Monday tomorrow and I can do it all over again.

Anyway, enough self pity..... Here's one I took yesterday afternoon on the way to the store.

Trying not to make all my shots identical to my short lived Slice of Life side challenge, but there is a very strong chance there are going to be duplicates.

ETA. This weekend has been exceptionally beautiful. Sunshine and cloudless. It's also rather cold.... :( It makes a welcome change from the dreary weather we had in November and December.

Day 6-Nothing spectacular today.

Homesteading during the Oklahoma Land Run, the J.L. Ford family built their original log cabin in 1895. Preserved by his company, the landmark still stands today. The Mill, started in 1906, is a legacy to his insistence on quality product. He set the standards of Shawnee Milling Company, still operated by the third generation of Ford family millers.

There are an awful lot of birds in this side challenge... thought I'd balance things out by showing my cats. :o)

Though well looked after while I was gone, they sure were happy to see me - and I was very happy to see them.
This morning, while they were resting from their strenuous breakfast, I took a few photos. My cat friends are very much a part of where I live.

Bit out of sync, but here's another from today. Have commented some, but will try and do a few more before I call it a night.
