OK, so there I am playing around with Lightroom and I check out the crop overlay mode option, it has a number of different settings in there, and one of the is "The Golden Spiral".. OK, so, what is it and how/when is it used?? Completely new to me.

Seriously, the Golden Spiral is quite a strong composition, but not really an easy one for a photographer to do in-camera.
Check out wikipedia if you like formulas.
