ok trying to step away from inanimate objects and trying to shoot people for a change to see if its something I want to persue, recently did my first relatively serious shoot of a newborn of a wonderful couple through where I work. I know there is prob vast areas of improvement so I'm looking for any and all feed back that I can get (good or bad I can take it and not personally). Below is one of the photos and after I get time for more edits I'll post some more from the shoot...
TIA for your time,
-dave

I think it's okay and the parents prob would like it. Personally, I would prefer the baby looking my direction (yeah, easier said then done I know) and maybe a green background or something more interesting then the plain white (something to contrast the red hat).
The best baby shots I have seen (and I am a DOF fan anyway, so take it for what it's worth) are the ones with really shallow DOF on the eyes or feet.
