This site has had some great threads titled something like "Business of Photography" that I saved to my watched threads list (which is about 12 pages now!) so I'll see if I can find them. There were some great business plans, guidance and critiques in there. I'll be right back.

edit to add... Here they are:

Business of Photography - Group 1
Business of Photography - Group 2

Actually, after taking another look, you were the second person to post in the Group 2 thread, so you might have already looked at them. I just remember some great guidance from people like Prof_Fate and that there was a lot of discussion about business plans.

I've been getting closer and closer to making the same decision to go fulltime also, or at least put significantly more time into making a living from photography. I've been doing a lot of sports photography and selling the shots to the participants and kitesurfing magazines.

I've also been a little lax in adding to my DPC portfolio, but I've got tons of photos over the past two years that I think are marketable as art to hang in the home or office. I've sold several without really trying and a lot of people are encouraging me to really give it a fair shot while my primary line of work is extremely slow right now. If there were to be a time to try it, now is definitely it.

Good luck. If anybody can do it, you can. I'll be following with much interest.

Thanks so much, Robert. I'll check those out, even if I've looked before, they may help more now that I'm actively working on my BP.
Good luck to you as well, you have the work ethic & a great portfolio -- I agree you should give it a go.

Feel free to call if you have questions, or just wanna vent. You have my number. :)
